We’re excited to announce that from early April, iglu sauna is moving to a fantastic new location.
The big question - where?
We’re moving to High Street, a slightly elevated, secluded spot surrounded by trees. We love the spot - it has a view down the valley and feels peaceful, even though it’s two minutes walk from the centre. There’ll be a little more space and we’ll be using the move as a chance to make a few refinements to the facilities.
The site is owned by the Calder Valley Community Land Trust (CVCLT), a local organisation dedicated to creating sustainable and affordable rented homes. We’re really happy to be working with CVCLT, who will use the rental income to carry out woodland management at High Street and to create affordable rented homes locally. CVCLT said they are “pleased to be working with iglu sauna to contribute to the vibrant community of Hebden Bridge.”
More details on CVCLT are below, including how you can get involved with their work.
Will the experience change at the new site?
Broadly, everything will remain the same as it is now: hot sauna, cold plunge, hot and cold showers, toilets, changing space and outdoor seating. We will be making improvements to the changing space and adding additional showers. We’ll rejig the layout a little for a smooth flow over your visit.
Session types, timings and prices will stay the same, that said we are looking to add new session types - Women’s? Breathwork? Run and sauna? Storytelling? Let us know your ideas!
How do I get there?
High Street is a two-minute walk from the Co-op in the centre of Hebden Bridge, between the main road and Heptonstall Road. Once you are in Hebden Bridge, the easiest way to access is via the Cuckoo Steps - see our map above or follow this link for Google Maps. You can also access the site from Heptonstall Road - the path is just beyond the Fox and Goose pub.
We recommend walking or cycling if you are able to. You’re welcome to leave your bike inside the site.
The map below shows walking directions from the Co-op.

Travelling from outside of Hebden Bridge?
We are a 10-15 minute walk from the train station, and two minutes from Market Street, where buses frequently run in both directions. If you are visiting us by car, we recommend using the main car parks in Hebden Bridge.
Can I park on site?
There is no parking on site. We ask that you do not park on the neighbouring streets, most of which have residents’ permits in place.
How do I book?
You can now book your session on our website. If you’d like to make a private booking for one or both saunas, we can now arrange this, up to and including June 2025. Do send us an email. We will be closed from Monday 31 March to Friday 4 April to move, and will reopen on Saturday 5 April.
Information for members
If you are unable to use all your credits this month due to the move then please do email us on info@iglusauna.co.uk and we’ll roll them over.
...and goodbye to Birchcliffe
While we’re excited about this next chapter, we are sad to say goodbye to our current home and the wonderful teams at Pennine Heritage, the Birchcliffe Centre, and Hebden Bridge Hostel. It’s been a fantastic year and we’ve enjoyed getting to know the Birchcliffe community, and of course the views!
See you soon
We look forward to welcoming you to the new site and sharing the space with you. Keep an eye out for more information, and we’ll see you at iglu soon.

More about Calder Valley Community Land Trust
CVCLT is a member-owned Community Benefit Society, who aim to give people peace of mind and the ability to put down roots via secure tenancies in affordable rented homes. They are also custodians of community buildings and land.
CVCLT said: "Calder Valley Community Land Trust is pleased to be working with iglu sauna to contribute to the vibrant community of Hebden Bridge. The outdoor mobile sauna has proven to be popular in Hebden and we see High Street as a good place to provide a new temporary home.
Having been approached by iglu sauna, we recognise that their business is a good intermediate use for the site. Its presence will enhance the setting and contribute to the security of the area and will also enable CVCLT to progress the woodland maintenance at High Street.
With the start of CVCLT’s new project in Todmorden that will create 19 secure tenancies in affordable Passivhaus homes and a new 23 office enterprise centre, CVCLT is not able to take forward the development of the High Street homes at the moment.”
